ARTICLE: 19 Online Places To List Your Domiciliary Care Business! (part one)

Back in 2013, I did a review of all the places online that you could list a home care business.  Things have changed a lot since then, so I thought it would be a good time to do a review of them all again, so you have all got the most up to date information

Once you have set up your domiciliary care business, you need to advertise your home care business online. Luckily, there are a number of places you can find free listings for home care and domiciliary care agencies. This is part one - each list gives you 7-8 places you can list your home care business for free (mostly)

There are some non-sector specific business listing websites you can advertise on:

Although these are free listings, you may find that you will get calls from business suppliers as the data is often sold as new businesses that have been set up. You may be able to opt out of your details being made available. However, if you have recently set up your business you may need new services - a timely cold call can sometimes be useful!

There are also places you might not have immediately thought of:

  • Google Maps - If your business is on Google Maps it helps when people are searching for things locally
  • Free online business listings in your local newspaper.  Rochdale Observer is a good example with their home care listings
  • UKHCA - They list all of their members. There is a fee of £660 if you have a single branch and additional charges for more branches. Carers UK also have an online tool to search through UKHCA members.
  • NHS Choices - Your business is going to be automatically listed here anyway, and pretty much *all* of your competitors have done nothing with their profile, so why not stand out from the crowd and get your favourite service user to pop on a review?

In addition, if you provide services through a local authority you will usually be listed on their website, for example:

Royal Borough of Greenwich show all the agencies that are contracted to work with the authority. Another example is can be seen on the Telford and Wrekin Council website.

Do you know any other good places to list a domiciliary care business? Get in touch and I can add them here!

Next part will focus on those websites that specialise in care sector listings.  Some are free listings and some are paid.  Most have both options.
